Cheap Estrella Damm at 5 dollars and amazing tapas. Tried the prasbs, the octopus and the Wagyu. All amazing, the octopus unmissable. Great service from the Brazilian staff.
Amazing Sunday all day happy hour, you'll want to stay there for hours, authentic live music and great vibe. Staff are great, engaged and v. V. attentive . Really nice candles, they smelt insane. Definitely one to hit up on a Sunday .
Visited here on the spur of the moment last week and did the tasting menu, which, at $45 looked great value... But, we found the dishes a bit of a mixed bag the good things were very good, but a couple of dishes were...less successful (for us anyway! ... Olives were nice as was the chorizo and polenta, and followed by delicious goats cheese croquettes. We were less taken by the whole (shell on prawns as the texture eating the shell was a little like eating plastic (this might just be our preferences though! . The main course chicken was quite tasty and well cooked, but the chicken pieces we had were quite bony, gristly and hard work accompanying carrot dish was tasty! The dulce de leche pastry for dessert was our favourite thing a little treat... We'd go back, but probably pick and choose our own dishes over the tasting menu.
Bondi can be a little bogan in places but it is worth going for a wander and finding some of the better eateries. This was one such. The service was attentive and knowledgeable warm without overbearing. Chose the tasting menu which was surprising...with roast peppers being a revelation and the chicken beautifully cooked tastes not commonly associated with tapas. Goats cheese croquettes mentioned in other reviews not as good as other tastes. Overall novel approach to tapas and worth a try.
