This is a must go for travelers to Shantiniketan, bolpur. I visited this place twice in my trip and it worth it.The food is simply awesome and the way it is served make you feel at home. The owner makes it a point to ask each and every guest at the end on the food, adds the much needed personal touch. But beware, make sure to order in advance otherwise it will be difficult to get a place and food here for the rush!

We were on our way to Kenduli to listen to a baul programme hosted for us in Tarak Das Baul's Aakhra. We were coming for a Durgapur and was a fairly large family group.Needed breakfast and reasonable toilets somewhere enroute and decided to call this place one or two days before and come here. Breakfast was freshly prepared, a little slow but very tasty - it was luchi and alur sabji with some tea. Price very reasonable and toilets were okay; The serving place is a largish room with a large table and chairs.We ordered dinner for the night too as we liked the breakfast and thought that it makes sense to have dinner here before driving to Durgapur. Was served, shukto, fish (pabda and Katla) curry, Dhokar Dalna, dal and Alu Jhuri Bhaja plus chutney with rice. Again food was very tasty but a tad slow. The lady of the place, Putul Pal, served with a lot of love and care.In all paid about Rs 2200 for both breakfast and dinner for 9 people. Had a musical jam session while waiting for dinner. It is on the Bolpur-Ilambazar Road. Within 10 minutes drive we reached there from Kharimati resort. We had to book the meal in advance by a phone call early in the morning. It is basically a big firm with tank, agriculture, dairy etc. Some tribal women serve the meal with such a great care that you must feel a homely atmosphere. We booked a Mutton meal. The meal starts with "Ghee". Rice, Dal, Sabji, Alu Fry, Dhoka Dalna, Chatni, Papad were the common meal. We took "Chhanar Payes" sweets extra with the meal. The mutton dish was a bit oily & spicy. But overall taste was awesome. The restaurant is a little far from the main town of Bolpur-Shantiniketan.
