Singapore Di Zhou Xuping C - BOLOGNA

Very disappointing. we ordered the spring rolls as beginnings that were not very crisp or tasty. followed a sauce/tip and this was very anonymous in the taste. then we divided three courts; “Noodles” with sweet and “noodles” with huh. It turned out that the noodles were... regular spaghetti. we had not hoped for. the taste was not present and the spaghetti was overcooked. the last dish was grilled chicken with terayaki, which was decent. all in one experience we would rather not have it.

Spent a total of 28 nights in Bologna, ate about 20 dinners and 1 lunch here. Food served are the closest to the South-East Asian cuisine especially found in Singapore and Malaysia. Had a little chat with lady-boss, her grand-dad worked a short stint in...Singapore before heading to Bologna to open this restaurant, 15 years ago. Today, dinner crowds are quite visible almost every night. Take-away order are also a plenty. This place is run by a local Italian Chinese (China migrants who settled in Italy) community. Italian and Mandarin as well as English are well-versed amongst friendly staff. Head over between 6.30pm to 7.30pm to avoid the crowds and they are opened till 12.30mn. They do open for lunch (12-3pm) as well. Expect to pay EUR 15 per person for a very decent Chinese dinner.

Our second visit to this restaurant confirmed our positive impressions. Good service, nicely laid tables but especially delicate and light food, including a few unusual Korean specialities. Very reasonable too. It will definitely become our favourite oriental restaurant whenever in Bologna.
