Osteria De Poeti Closed - BOLOGNA

The place is authentic and interesting, the stuff was professional and pleasant at the beginning, but the food is just average, nothing special, not even fine. When we asked for bill, they brought the one where they added 2 things we didn’t order, of course we asked and they said it was a mistake and brought us the new one, but the fact is that as tourists they were trying to fool us. After we asked them about the mistake they suddenly became very inconsiderate.

Recommended by an Italian friend, we had the opportunity to enjoy amazing different specialties of the area it was the Truffle's season and that was a real delight to degust various dishes combined with the truffle oil) Pasta and meat were a real delight !! Unfortunately, service and staff were way beyond average: we had to wait for more than 45-50 minutes to get the main dish after our pasta and worse: you could call, waive, gesticulate, scream or sing to the waiter .. he would not care the least! It is true the restaurant was fully booked.. that was not a good reason to ruin the quality of excellent food. Pity ...

Had a reservation for this restaurant, and we were welcomed. It's really pretty and atmospheric. We were not super hungry, so ordered tagliatelle with meat sauce that we split between us. It was good. We also split the veal cutlet with cheese and truffle, it was very tasty. Also got a side dish of salad which was very tastefully dressed with balsamic vinegar. I thought the waitress was not comfortable with us, and someone else took over. But the food was good, and the wine as well. The dessert, a lemon meringue dish with flecks of chocolate was amazing, as was the cappuccino, best I've had in Italy so far. Very enjoyable last meal in Bologna.

Went for dinner Sunday 6th . Nice meal atmospheric place lovely waiters . Truly appalling manager . Rude and abrupt with us . Rude and aggressive to waiters . Interrupted our conversation with the waiter when we were paying . So should not be working in the service industry . Then rude to us when he overcharged us told us we were wrong despite having no idea whether we were or were not wrong as he hadn’t served us . Such a shame as could be a nice place

I read some great reviews on this restaurant when searching for places to eat focusing on the cuisine of Bologna. We headed out to find this elusive place, which we easily missed as it is in a quiet side street, with a small obscure sign. After descending the stairs, we were surprised at how large the restaurant was. We were seated next to the original wine cellar dating back to the 1400’s! We ordered the Carpaccio di Salmone, Tagliatelle al Ragout Bolognese (of course), Tagliata di Manzo alla Brace, and a bottle of Montefalco Rosso for lunch. Everything was delicious and we couldn’t have been happier to have eaten here. Although this restaurant is deemed four € signs, it really wasn’t expensive at all. On the way out, we looked around the area of the entrance and were pleasantly surprised to see a wall of photos of all the celebrities who dined here including Mariah Carey, Angelina Jolie, etc and a bunch of Italian celebs too!
