We order a bowl of their Tanaka Classic Ramen, calamari and chicken karaage for our meal while brown sugar milk tea and taro milk tea with tapioca as drinks. For the brown sugar milk tea is taste good but can be better while taro milk tea is really bad like taro flavour ice water. Appetizers are lack of taste. The chicken karaage is hard like rocks, not juicy type and served with so call spicy Mayo but did not taste any spicy. Calamari is soft not crunchy but easy to chew. Tonkotsu Classic Ramen broth is lack of flavour but still is taste good for Asian. But the Narutomaki is too thin and nearly invisible in bowl. Luckily the chashu taste good. The service from the server was decent. Never checked on customers. Need more training. Overall, I will not recommend this place for those who really like ramen.
First experience at this restaurant as well as with trying ramen and boy was it good. I had the Tanaka classic ramen and it was just the right thing for a cold winters day. Would highly recommend eating here if you're in the area.
Will it ramen? I think that this is a good ramen place. It has its unique profile in taste, the noodles where good and the pork had great flavor. The pork bun was my favorite starter, to be honest the shrimp shumai had a light shrimp flavor it took a few pieces to taste it. Their drinks are tasty and not too sweet. I look forward to coming again and tasting the garlic broth.
Tanaka Ramen has a good variety of ramen, rice dishes, small bites, and bubble tea. They even have vegetarian/vegan options. The ramen here is always rich and in good proportions.
Great place for a meal or a few small plates! Add a fruity bubble tea and milk tea options too! Crispy Brussels sprouts and chicken wings are were delicious small plates. I did notice that the two servings chicken wings look different. One serving of chicken wings was more dry, while the other serving was crispy. Even the coloration of the two look different. A little improvement and consistency should be considered for this. See pictures to compare. I've tried a couple of their ramen noodles, very good as well. But, ask them to serve the ramen soup HOT! It tastes much better. (On both of my visits, the ramen soup broth was served at a warm to room temperature). The ramen noodle texture and taste is excellent. Service was good and attentive. There's a soap box dispenser at the entry of the restaurant to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all guests. Located at the Bolingbrook Mall. Easy parking.
