Went to Bodh Gaya as part of a pilgrimage, eventhough I loved and embraced to the max the whole Indian experiene, it was kind of really nice to go for once and sit in a european/bohemian style cafe. I only had cake and tea as opposed to a meal - and I was delighted to see that the menu card showed gluten free options! Had a yummi gluten free chocolate cake and savoured every crumb! The cafe is small but pretty. When I was there there was a beautiful mix of european travellers and Buddhist monks visiting. I absolutely recommed Be Happy Cafe.
I've been in India for eight months. The pizza here was like some from the U.S It was far better than the chains you find in India. The iced Americano was nice also.
My wife and I are hardcore meat-eaters. And yet, this is one of those absolutely rare instances that we didn't miss meat. Forget meat, we didn't even default to our go-to comfort ingredient - cheese, and we still had an awesome meal. The missus likes sun-dried tomatoes. I love pesto. And there was a sun-dried tomatoes and pesto pizza on the menu! Our first. And to have found it in Bodh Gaya, of all places. Loved it. We also had a classic favourite - spaghetti in marinara sauce. It was great. I read so much about the cheesecake and still ordered banoffee pie. I feel a twinge of regret not trying the cheesecake as I write this. Generous servings. Attentive staff. And a gorgeous ambience. Don't miss this place if you're in town.
Friendly helpful staff and great food. We had a rather large group but hot food was hot cold was cold and everybody was happy. Inside is air conditioned but they also have outdoor tables if you prefer.
