Had to stop here, because of the large crowds. Also there was a sign that stated best clam chowder 2023 Sonoma county . We were not disappointed. We got a to go cup of clam chowder this time. Price was significantly better than that of the birds cafe . Below 10 dollars. As for the quality. Right on some of the best on my list. Clam chowder was thick, I believe they used cream in the stock, veggies were plentiful as well as the clam pieces. Flavor was not bland. I would consider it a top 10 place of clam chowder I 've eaten in California. Btw the Lucas restaurant is closed for now. So sad! I was so bummed to find out they permanently closed back in March. I am hoping it will come back at some point. It was one of my favorite places to stop for some great food and drinks.

I used to go here on occasion but the last 2 times I 've traveled 1-1/2 hrs to get there it 's been CLOSED!! There 's sign on the door that says it 's temporarily closed but no explanation as to why. The second time I went (which was today 7/13) it was again closed. The friend I went with called a couple of days before to find out if it was open and the answering machine said they were open Wed thru Sun from 10 till 8pm. He even left a message asking them to call him so we could find out if the were REALLY open and of course no one called him back. Nothing about them being closed?? This really pisses me off! Why don 't they SAY they 're closed instead of having people go there under the impression they are open and find out they 're NOT!
