Yamas mezé restaurant & weinbar

I enjoyed my time here! delicious food in a friendly atmosphere and good service too. yamas offers Greek tapas, new in a modern style. it's absolutely a must when in bochum. there is also an interesting wine list. more reasonable price. this review has been written...after a few visits and it is based on food quality, personal creation worth money and atmosphere.

The quality of eating is great. always a reason to go there. sometimes the service is somewhat confused in a nice way.

We booked a table before our visit on Saturday night, but were very disappointed. it was very busy when we arrived, so we expected good things. this was not the case, however. the menu was extremely overpriced for the portions we were given....We were charged 6 euro for a bottle of water. when the food arrived, it was black and pink. we were bought a substitute, but the portion size was even smaller and this time it was boiled (I think the cook tried to prove a point.) the mousakka was cold and obviously had not been properly heated. we complained about our problems and only one of these dishes was removed from the bill. the focus of the service seemed to be on the natives, and because we were English and not speaking German we did not receive much attention. we are extremely disappointed and still hungry to pay with an extremely expensive bill. would not recommend an absolute cost of money

I visited Yamas when on a business trip in Bochum, after having found another preferred restaurant fully occupied. It was a hot evening, and I had a table outside in the street. I took fried squid with a small salad as a starter, and stifado...as main course. The portions were good and the food was authentically Greek, as far as I could tell. Accompanied by some Hefe Weizen, and followed by coffee, this was a grea meal overall. The price (around €30) did not disappoint.
