818 Heat Hotpot Bbq - Boca Raton

Our dinner plans fell through on our last night in town. This place popped up on my search as open late and it was a short walk from our hotel. The food was amazing. The service was great. It was all you can eat and was very reasonably priced. Seriously this was some of the best Korean bbq we’ve ever had.

During dinner, everything was nice. But during checking bill, waitress accidentally push my cup of coke which left at least half of it on my whole jeans. It was much coke as much that it flooded down to the floor. She apologize and brought me towel to clean. At first, I try to calm my self cause understand that it was accident. But during I’m still cleaning my soak jeans, one waiter passed by and was laughing with making joke about my situation. That’s made me so frustrated. So, I asked to talk with manager and then it came out that waiter who was laughing before is manager!!!!! Can you imagine? He just came and said that what do you want me to do cause she was already apologize and it was accident. And he also started to raise voice to me and then just walked out with really bad expression. Later, that waitress came and said they gonna take out my bill but I refuse. I didn’t want to eat for free. I want to pay my meal but I want to see more responsible or real apologize from that man! That was the worst experience in restaurant in my life!!!! I’ve never be hard to deal with with waiter or waitress but this was so awful. I’m not gonna go back this place again!! I’m not mad with waitress but so done with manager. If you want to go, the food is ok but be prepare with service.

The prices are way too high for a Chinese Hotpot Korean BBQ buffet $32 one $38 both). Especially, for the quality of the broths, meats seafood. The various broths are instant bouillon base, the quality of the marinated meats are way too sweet sugar on sale), the seafood options are pre-frozen balls fish balls shrimp balls). Here you order the various items from the menu and the server retrieves the items for you from the kitchen, the quantity amount for each item order meats, seafood, vegetables) is unknown you have to repeatedly ask the server. I understand this is their way if controlling food waste cost, but leads to inconvenience takes away from the dining experience when they bring out quantities that are more or less than what was expected. Constantly asking how many slices or pieces in an order, because mind you we are aware of the are reminded about the don’t waste food policy. Another issue was with the server controlling our temp for the grill, she would constantly lower our grill from 360 down to 300, which left the meats, seafood like a boiling texture instead of a charred grilling texture. Again prices, 2 adults $38 ea, 2 kids $23 ea, 3 sodas total w tip taxes $160. If it was 4 adults, would be $200 for buffet at fine dining prices??!!

First time here and got the authentic hot pot experience.all you can eat for 33$ premade items inclusive of chicken feet , red bean paste, fresh buns, watermelon and a make your own sauce stationthey also have Korean bbq.parking available up front

Additionally, if some diners at your table choose the hotpot and BBQ, everyone is charged for the extra add-ons, which is understandable. However, I was surprised to find that they charged the kids full price for the BBQ add-ons, even though they didn’t have their own hotpot and were expected to share with the adults. We had children aged 3-4 years, and they were supposed to be half price, but they were charged the full amount despite not eating any BBQ.
