Best Indian food I have ever had. Good service and decor is nice as well. The only thing I didn't like was that the flatbread was not included. Every other place I've tried the bread was included- like chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
I was craving Indian food today, and this is the only Indian place in the eastern suburbs where I was running errands, so I decided to check it out. It was a quaint little place with the ambiance you 'd expect from an Indian restaurant, including Indian pop music (Bollywood music) playing overhead. It wasn 't too busy at lunchtime on a Friday and I was seated quickly. I ordered chicken samosas to start, since that is my go-to Indian appetizer. Two giant samosas and an assortment of chutneys came out. To my disappointment, they contained peas, which I honestly should have asked about in the first place. I don 't like peas and some Indian restaurants put peas in their samosas and some don 't. However, the peas were few and I easily picked them out. The chicken filling was good, albeit a little bland. For my entree, since I was indecisive, I ordered the Tandoori mixed grill, medium heat. This was a disappointment. For medium heat, it had no heat at all. We 're talking plain Taco Bell taco level of spiciness. The seekh kabob was very overcooked and dry. The shrimp, tandoori chicken and chicken tikka all seemed to have the same sauce/seasoning on it and you couldn 't really tell that they were different dishes. It was all quite bland, especially for Indian food. None of the food was bad, per se, but it didn 't hit that spicy, flavorful craving I was having. If you 're new to Indian food, and afraid of anything too spicy, this place may be just the spot for you. For me, well, I think I 'm going to go back to some of my other favorite spots on the western and northern sides of the metro.
