Rum Cake Lady - Blue Ridge

I ordered the vegan sandwich from this restaurant, as it was the only vegan option on the menu. It cost $13 and contained spinach, plantains, and possibly some sauce. It didn't really feel like a traditional sandwich, and I learned afterwards that adding vegan meat would cost an extra $3. My friend enjoyed her Cuban coffee, but we found the service to be lacking in friendliness. Perhaps it was just an off day, but I don't think I'd choose to return to this place in the future.

I only tried the Cuban sandwich and a bowl here, but both were delicious. The restaurant offers a homemade meat substitute that is really tasty, and they also serve sweet plantains that can be added to the sandwich or bowl. The Cuban broth is vegan and can be ordered for takeout as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed the vegan Cuban sandwich. The bread was crispy and delicious, and the combination of Cuban sauce, soup, peppers, spinach, and grilled plantains added a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and light seasoning to the crunchy bread. The restaurant's outdoor area is adorned with Cuban music playing in the background, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

What a great little sound. I visited my family and had not expected to find any vegan food options, but to my surprise this spot dipped on 200ft from where I stood. the owner is super sweet and it is obvious that she loves what she does. cuban vegan was certainly a beautiful change and would never have expected to find in the mountain. next time will be back in the city. update dezember 2020: want to add that they can add more vegan options to the menu and dinge that can be modified in vegan. I have the vegan bowl with rice, bean, spinat and plantains. was really good!

Although their options are limited, what they do have is delicious! I believe what can go into the vegan bowl/sandwich changes, so make sure you ask. Vegan meat is available, but I filled mine with veggies and sweet plantains.
