Royal Waffle King - Blue Ridge

Our experience was terrible. For a place that calls itself the Waffle King, the waffle and pancakes were simply awful! Do yourself a favor and find another place to have waffles and pancakes. Kevin

We were looking for a place for breakfast and this seemed to be the only place open early. Waitress originally that greeted us wanted to run hot food first. I completely support that but then she forgot about us and never came back for even drink orders. I had to grab someone else 's attention and original waitress said, oh I forgot about you, sorry. Service was part for theplace. Food was also. Seemed a lot like a waffle house that I don 't tend to frequent but there were not many choices. Didn 'tsee any outside area like these pictures are showing so not sure about that. Iur seating was actually uncomfortable. Smalltable and I was backed up to a metal pole so couldn 't back my chair out at all. Did it get the job done, yes. Would I go backby choice, no.

The place was packed on Sunday late morning. And apparently it's like that every weekend. We got seated pretty quick the waitress was quick to get our drinks our order. It took about 45 mins to get our food. Our sweet waitress kept up with refills kept an close eye on orders even apologized for the wait. Once we received our food... it was very good. I may try again butNOT on a weekend.

Food was good. Service on the other hand so so. First off our waitress (Betty jo) was eating fries next to the grill. Drinking her drink back there next to grill. Had her purse out on counter by waffle maker. Then never once washed her hands after doingso. I don?t know how you run your food service but if I was state I would have tagged you several times over. Customer servicealso needs to be worked on. She was constantly on her phone in the cooking area and never once offered to refill my guestsdrink. Also the prices on your menu need to be updated a Belgian waffle is 4.49 yet rings up 4.99?
