Frank's Pizza House - Blue Island

I absolutely love this restaurant! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I dined in for dinner, and the overall experience was fantastic. The price per person was around $50–100. The food was excellent, receiving a perfect score of 5, just like the service and the ambiance. I highly recommend trying the sausage pizza—it's a must!

If you don't spot anyone to take your order, there's a bell you can ring, and the staff responds quickly. The lady came out promptly and informed me that my pizza would only take 20 minutes, which turned out to be spot on! When I returned to pick it up, the pizza was piping hot right out of the oven. Normally, I like to let my pizza cool a bit to avoid burning my mouth, but it looked irresistible! The crust was thin and crispy, yet just the right thickness—not too thin at all. The sauce was a delightful blend of zesty and sweet, just how I prefer it. I ordered a sausage pizza with extra sauce and asked for it to be a bit well done, and it was absolutely divine. Undeterred, I quickly drove the five minutes to Frank’s and brought the incorrect pizza inside. The gentleman in the back was very apologetic and explained that the ovens were indeed off. I pressed on, asking if he could simply add the sausage to correct my order since I had already paid for it. I wasn’t looking for a refund, just a correction. Relieved that I wasn’t asking for a refund, he happily agreed to help. He went ahead and added the sausage to my pizza, cooking it again and even adding extra cheese to enhance the flavor. To top it off, he graciously provided me with plates, plastic utensils, and napkins as I left, feeling satisfied. Mistakes can happen, but how they recover from them is what will bring me back to Frank's in the future.

It's time for this place to catch up with the times and start accepting debit and credit cards. It used to be family-friendly, but now it doesn't feel that way anymore. There are people hanging around the patio and gaming machines who create an uncomfortable atmosphere, and the bartender seems to treat every customer like a nuisance. Walking in was disappointing, too; the pool table was badly askew and covered in pizza flour, giving it the appearance of a recent bar fight. It's clear this place could use some fresh energy to bring in customers instead of having it feel so empty all afternoon. Frank would be truly disappointed to see it like this.
