Birrieria Loreto Zacatecas in Blue Island is one of those hidden gems you might miss if you're not specifically looking for it, as it’s located next to other food establishments. I arrived early in the morning to enjoy the freshest offerings possible. I was seated right away and warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. As is my custom at new restaurants, I ordered two steak tacos with everything and a glass bottle of really cold Mexican Coca-Cola. They brought out some green and red salsa along with chips to kick off my meal, but once my tacos arrived, it was sheer perfection. Each taco featured two tortillas with just the right amount of meat and an ideal balance of cilantro and onions. Everything came together beautifully when I added the salsa. Overall, everything was fantastic—from the prices to the meal itself. My quest for the best tacos in the city led me to the delicious tacos at Birrieria Loreto Zacatecas. I highly recommend it!

Honestly, it was not what I expected. I was disappointed that the birria didn't have a distinct flavor; good birria should have a strong taste, and this one did not. I wouldn't go back.

The birria was quite salty when it arrived. It came with onions and cilantro, which was a bit unusual; most places serve these on the side so that customers can add them to their liking.

Very good taste only know what they are buying before going.

My African-American friend traveled from Chicago to try the birria tacos after reading the reviews about it on Groupon. He purchased the Groupon and visited the location on a Sunday afternoon when gas is $6 a gallon for premium grade. When he entered he said everyone was looking at him weirdly. He walked to the counter and said to the cashier that he had a Groupon he wanted to use. The cashier said they no longer accept Groupons . He left the restaurant disappointed and confused. The Groupon is not expired so why didn 't they accept it? I would hate to think it was racism involved but I really don 't understand why they do that to him.
