Savannah's Oyster House - BLOWING ROCK

This place felt like something out of a reality TV show—so bad that it’s hard to believe it’s real. They had run out of burger meat and all the toppings, and there was no cole slaw available either. To top it off, the soda machine was out of order. The waitress was shockingly inattentive, almost as if she were trying to be terrible. She left us alone for almost the entire meal, and when it was time for the check, she commented that she didn’t want to rush us, just didn’t want anyone to feel neglected. Strangely, the restaurant wasn’t even busy—there were only four groups dining. Our food arrived cold and tasted awful, almost like mud. The only redeeming aspect was the hush puppies, which were decent. When we asked for a box and a bag to take our leftovers home for our dogs, we found out they didn’t have any bags available. If a restaurant is going to charge a premium for a dining experience, they should at least have good, friendly staff and actually serve what’s on the menu. I will certainly not be returning, and I strongly suggest you save your money too.

We have been dining here around New Year's for the past three years, and the service and food have always been excellent. Unfortunately, this time, the service was quite disappointing. We sat at the bar and waited several minutes for someone to take our drink orders. Although the place was busy, we understood the wait. After receiving our drinks, we requested a menu to order food, only to be met with a very rude response from an employee. They informed us that since we were seated at the bar, it would take 30 minutes for someone to take our food orders. We finished our drinks and left without ordering anything. It’s disheartening to see this establishment decline, as we have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere here.

This was one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. I usually like to write positive reviews, but I feel compelled to give this one star. The service was incredibly slow. I understand that staffing can be an issue, but it was still frustratingly slow. The crab cakes were SOUR, and the waitress mentioned they used the wrong pan, whatever that means. One of our plates even had a hair in the food, and the shrimp were not deveined. To make matters worse, not one member of the management staff stopped by our table to apologize or even offer an explanation. The only bright spot was the chargrilled oysters, which were excellent!

Great food. A very pleasant surprise in Blowing Rock. I'm from New Orleans, So i decided to try the po boy. It is made with Leidenheimer bread, which is made in New Orleans. The food was SOOO GOOD. It really felt like a taste of home.

I have never had a bad experience here. My favorite thing on the menu is the shrimp and grits which is the best shrimp and grits anywhere. They also have really good hush puppies!
