The place will be turned into a Cajun seafood boil in the winter, but the OG food worths some complimentary! They had the best tempura in town! Perfect batter, thin, crunchy, and the right amount of food inside. Chinese food was also very impressive. The pork in Pekin sauce and eggplants in garlic sauce were very good! I can't wait to come back to try the cajun seafood. Hope it will be as good as our lucky garden!!
Brought my parents here and they absolutely loved it just like we do. Service was nice and fast. I've been here a handful of times and never get disappointed. We're moving out of Bloomington next week and this is one place I will definitely miss.
Be excited to experience authentic Asian food. The Staff is warm and welcoming they greet you upon entrance with a smile and make excellent suggestions when ordering. Things that will compliment your order from appetizers to entrées. Excellent Service and Food that Exceeds Expectations. Lucky Garden has curb appeal and a touch of asian elegance, if dining in. Lucky Garden is truly a hidden treasure in Bloomington Normal. Being from Hawaii, I know the difference between good and bad asian food. My review is in comparison to experiences, service and quality of cuisine I'd receive home in Hawaii. I've been to other Asian restaurants and buffets in Bloomington Normal. The quantity is there but the quality of the food isn't so great. It's asian people making Americanized asian food, almost everything taste the same. But really who wants that??? Take your hard earned money and experience what it's like to have authentic Asian cuisine! Loads of flavor in every bite! and nothing taste the same, the entire menu will give you verity leaving you feeling as if you've ordered it from Japan or China, from Chicken Katsu, to Sushi, Chow Foon-Fun everything is an eatable pleasure. Prices are reasonable and portions are plenty, I the rest with me and nothing gets wasted, it's that good. I visit Bloomington Normal every year from October to November and I always look forward to dining in or take out from Lucky Garden. Please don't take my word for it,go out and have this experience for yourself at the Lucky Garden.
Was our 1sr visit to Lucky Garden. Had read positive reviews on Yelp and decided it go for Lunch. The ambience is very nice and they have a Sushi bar which I liked it a lot. We ordered the Sushi lunch, Hunan Beef, Kung Pao Chicken and Rainbow vegetable.. Loved the Sushi lunch, they were fresh and tasted delicious. The Hunan Beef was to die for...the veggies were fresh and loved the quantity and quality !! My son loved the Kung Pao chicken. Overall, a value for money place with great ambience and service. Will definitely visit it again.
I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed my meal at Lucky Garden. It's the most authentic Chinese food I've had in Bloomington Normal. Located in a rural midwestern town, I didn't expect much from an Asian restaurant that I assumed was serving extremely Americanized Chinese/Japanese food. The exterior of the restaurant didn't really help draw me in either. But I was tired of most of the chain restaurants that were around, that and my craving for Chinese lead me to give this place a try. Upon entering, I was surprised by how clean and decorated the restaurant was. I was surprised once again when I found a small section of their menu that offered Szechuan style food. The rest of their menu was just typical Chinese/sushi. My review is based off of the food I ordered off of the Szechuan style section. Dry chili chicken not bad. There were plenty of chicken pieces, which were fried perfectly crispy. While it was not completely traditional, it was cooked very well. They dialed back the amount of chili pepper I am normally used to for this dish, so it was not as spicy I would have liked. Pork with Pekin sauce tender pork cooked in sweet Pekin sauce. The sauce was sweet, a little too sweet for me to have more than a few bites in one sitting. We ended up taking most of it home. Rainbow delight a mixed vegetable dish with fried tofu. It was average, we ordered it just so we have some vegetables on the table. At first glance, their price seemed high, but their portion sizes were huge! One entree can honestly feed two and it also comes with your choice of soup or salad. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and will return again.
