Calabrese Pizzeria - Bloomfield

Sal Calabrese is a master pizza maker and the rest of the menu is awesome too. My favorite is the Sicilian Baked Ziti with eggplant. OMG: All his ingredients are fresh and the portions are fantastic. I know my pizza folks and he's in the Top three for me. Nothing of my choices include the fast food chains. I feel like I'm having a meal cooked by Family. Sal always has a great smile and great jokes but also gives you a lot of history regarding the area. I'm a regular and even though I cook 80% of my meals at home, Sal is my go to guy when I don't feel like cooking. His other chef Julio and his mom are like family too. It's really cool to see his family stopping by for a meal. Reminds me of my trips to Italy where I only frequent mom and pop restaurants. He's open Super Bowl Sunday folks so put your orders in early. Tell them James sent you. Enjoy!!
