Charming traditional pub with an extensive selection of beers and great food. We went there on a Thursday evening and it was quite busy. It seems to be one of the few pubs in Stourpaine, but the service was excellent and the food was delightful. I had the steak pudding with chips, something I haven't had in years, and it was absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the ham, egg, and chips, and she also found it to be very tasty. The pub is adorned with various service members' hats throughout, and it even had a visit from King Charles when he was still a prince. A lovely place that's definitely worth a visit!

The White Horse Inn is a fantastic addition to the village of Stourpaine. It’s a wonderful pub with a small attached shop. I've dined here many times, and the menu is impressive, catering to a variety of tastes, including excellent vegan and vegetarian options. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and it's great to see younger employees being guided by more experienced team members. The service is prompt, and the food is outstanding—clearly prepared in-house rather than purchased pre-made. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, as this pub is quite popular. Just a heads up, parking can be limited when the pub is busy.

Honestly, the food was pretty disappointing; perhaps it was just an off night. It was average at best—the steak was quite fatty and the chips were overly greasy. The service was acceptable, but nothing special. The atmosphere was also marred by being seated right next to two other tables, making it feel like our conversations were intruded upon by the other couples nearby. These small issues really detracted from what we had hoped would be a pleasant evening out. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5.
