La Verdura Pasta Café - Blainville

Stopped here for an early dinner. Resto has a nice outdoor terrace and indoor seatings are mostly booth so very well laid out. Ordered their calamari and their famous lasagna with both cream and bolognais suce Calamari was basic brown rings. Not spectacular...for but lasagna is amazing at It is served with soup or salad and can be shared between people. It was both delicious and flavourful !!! Simply splendid. Highly recommend their house famous special lasagna!! Good service as well. Young staff but many servers at hand.

My friends and I decided to go back to La Verdura after a long absence due to COVID. This is where we had our intimate wedding supper years ago. The restaurant has changed in look due to the pandemic and it has been reduced...in size. Our evening started by changing tables as the booth we were given was rather confining; if you are a bit larger than normal it is rather uncomfortable. We then were given another table, I will use the word, cosy, for adults. It was a small table. The we met our server, Nicholas. If you go to this restaurant, avoid this waiter. It started when, the water that was served was warm and I asked for times…finally he takes my glass and fills it with ice…which since this was the only ice we were getting was shared with my friend. I will say my food was delicious. I ordered the fried calamari as a starter and the the seafood pizza. My husband went for the steak..our friends, one had the pasta Alfredo, the other an all dressed pizza. All good. The service however was awful! It took forever for us to get our coffee and then when we did it was cold. It was supposed to be served with our dessert…..anyway, eventually he did bring us some hot coffee….long after the desert was served. Then the bill, which my husband paid before I could have a look. Well there was a charge for a drink we did not order…when I told Nicholas that he made a mistake, he did offer to give us back the ….which I did refuse…but then he became a bit of a joke to him and one of the members of our group….do you want to take home the drink? I personally, did not find it amusing. This was not a cheap meal from McDonald’s, I would put our tally at the $ as our bill came to almost for two…(not including wine, which we brought ourselves). Also, I am very happy to back to restaurants and help the industry to get back on their feet. What I have a major issue with are arrogant lousy servers who lack customer service talent and make mistakes. Yes, perhaps I should have checked the bill before my husband paid….though once paid, a proper apology with prompt repayment should had been the actions taken. Lesson learned, with the amount of restaurants reopening, I will not be returning to this old favourite as the experience of this waiter has soured my attitude. If you don’t mind lousy service, then La Verdura is the place for you.

We have been many times to this restaurant and it's a favorite since it's not far from our home, but yesterday when my husband made the reservation for Saturday night at he was told on the phone that we MUST leave the restaurant no...later than Even though we will probably leave the restaurant before that time, we found it very impolite and I am not sure we will be back after that. Many times we have waited for our meal when it was very busy and never have we complained, I think the restaurant should offer the same courtesy to us.

This Blainville Italian restaurant is the type that allows you to bring your own wine. It dies not have any alcohol permit. It serves traditional Italian food plus delicious pizza baked in a brick oven. For regular visitors, the restaurant has free fidelity cards which...allows you to accumulate dollar credits that can be used to pay in part or whole future meals.

Our first visit to La Verdura a few weeks ago to celebrate a family birthday over dinner. All four of us rated the experience highly. Olivier, our waiter, was very pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable. Our corner table was private and cozy. The restaurant was full...(Saturday night) and had a warm background din of lively, happy conversations, but was not overly noisy. The dishes were all exceptional. Original presentations, inventive flavour palates, and overall excellent cuisine. Kudos to the Chef. Certainly one of the better restaurants in the Blainville area. Italian cuisine with a Tuscan flavour. It's a BYOB, which made the total meal cost very reasonable for the high quality of food, service and ambience. It may become our favourite Italian restaurant in the lower Laurentians/Laval region.
