I went for lunch with my wife and daughter. I decided to order a bowl of soup, but I was very disappointed. The soup arrived cold and when I returned it, I was told that someone had turned off the urn and fresh soup would be brought out when it was warm. However, when the soup was finally served, it was only tepid. The server even told me to enjoy it now that it was warm, but it was still not very satisfying.
Treated my mum to sparkling afternoon tea here while visiting from Wales. Beforehand the Winter Gardens put me in touch with Anusha at the cafe because I wanted to make it a little special for her as she was 60. I only expected a little candle stuck in her scone or something but Anusha arranged banners on the table, balloons and was really attentive when we arrived, taking photographs for us. The tea itself was delightful, just the right amount! What a lovely day, it really made our trip. Thanks Anusha and team.
I visited this restaurant twice for lunch while attending an event at the Winter Gardens. The sandwich I ordered was small and soggy for £3.00, which I felt was overpriced. However, the soup I had for £3.50 was delicious and came with a small bread roll and butter. The coffee was decent, and the cakes looked great although I did not try them. The staff were friendly but appeared disorganized, leading to long wait times for coffee and inconsistent portion sizes. One soup was full while another was only half the size. A 500ml bottle of water cost £2.50, and all food and drinks were served on disposable paper plates, cups, and cutlery, which seemed unusual for a cafe that markets itself as a high-end piano bar. In reality, it felt more like a cafeteria, despite the prices. The restaurant had plenty of tables and was nicely decorated.
I went to this restaurant on a Thursday afternoon in October and had coffee and cake. The lattes were quite milky and the cake slices were big, but the cream icing was too sweet. The highlight of the meal was the bottle of cola. However, the live singer from the neighboring room was a bit too loud. The main reason to visit this place is the decor, which is fabulous with many interesting things to see while enjoying your drink. Overall, it was a bit disappointing, but the Winter Gardens nearby are fantastic.
