A J K Fish And Chips

This was my favourite place for fish and chips. The fish was huge and was always fried fresh. Unfortunately due to the cost of living expenses they were unable to continue operating. Sadly they are now permanently closed.

Ordered a lightly battered fish, with a regular portion of chips. Plus a tub of Peas and Curry. If never visited, the portion sizes are huge. Lovely huge battered Cod with a massive portion of chips. Easily serves 2, maybe 3 people if you arn't massive eaters. Other local chip shops, havn't been able to source Cod due to the massively increased prices. Missed AJK being closed for a few weeks, due to Ramadam and Eid, no doubt others have too. Prices have risen, as expected. But at £10, for quality food that feeds more than one to us, is very resaonable.

First time I have ordered online from here and half an hour before its due to arrive I get a message saying the restaurant couldnt accept my order when I have actually paid for it

They always make the fish chips fresh to order. We phoned our order through and it was ready as they said, 10 minutes later, when we arrived to collect. The fish batter is crispy and the fish itself taste excellent. Chips were not dry, perfectly done. All in all, the best chippy in town.

We visited recently, as this was my favourite chippy back in the day. Unfortunately it really wasn’t what it used to be, the fish was good but the chips were pale, and the gravy was watered down to an inch of its life. The curry sauce was sadly the same, very watery and very bland :
