The Dog Inn Belthorn - Blackburn

There were only a limited number of vegan options available, but they were all delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

The restaurant offers beautiful views and is located in a charming community pub. My friends and I recently went for Sunday lunch and were incredibly impressed by the delicious vegan options. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be bringing all my friends back with me.

The Dog Inn is a community owned and run pub and has some great sounding vegan options on the menu. I was supposed to go before lockdown for lunch, so the first opportunity I got I went for dinner. Starters of onion bhajia with cucumber mint raita and leek and potato soup with bread and vegan spread were delicious and hearty portions. Mains of cauliflower steak, with triple cooked chips, tomato and mushroom were equally as tasty and hearty. We were too full for dessert of chocolate and pecan brownie with vanilla sorbet and honeycomb will have to forfeit the starter next time. Will definitely revisit.

This was my second visit to the Dog Inn after a disappointing first visit in May. Fortunately, Mark, the owner and chef, invited us back to showcase what he and his team had to offer, and we were not disappointed. The service was exceptional, the Fullers blonde beer was great, and the food was amazing. As a vegan, I was pleased with the delicious menu options catering to my dietary needs as well as my husband's omnivorous preferences. I enjoyed the jackfruit fritters followed by the cauliflower steak, which was generously portioned, perfectly seasoned, and incredibly flavorful. It was the best meal I have had dining out in a long time. Despite being full, I couldn't resist trying the vegan Eton mess with "meringue," which was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning to the Dog Inn!
