I was blown away by the 4-course vegan plant-based menu priced at £12, prepared and served by catering students at Blackburn College in Scholars restaurant. My partner and I went for lunch and the experience far exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and cooked with passion. It was a delight to eat. The young chefs, aged between 16 to 19, showed great skill and creativity in their cooking. Scholars' vegan menu was well thought out, creative, exciting, and executed with passion. I had a chat with student chefs Imogen and Gem, who were so enthusiastic about their dishes (including the mushroom dessert). Credit goes to their mentor chef Dave and restaurant manager Karen for introducing the vegan plant-based menu. I can't wait to go back. Reservations require a £5 deposit. They currently do not have a wine list, but they are working on it. However, the prosecco is vegan. Highly recommended.

My husband and I went for lunch and the whole experience far exceeded our expectations. The food was incredible, beautifully presented, well-cooked, seasoned perfectly, and a delight to eat. It's impressive that the chefs, aged 16 to 19, were able to cook with such confidence and skill. In comparison to other places I have dined, where vegan options are often an afterthought, Scholars' vegan food was well thought out, creative, exciting, and made with passion. I had a lovely chat with student chefs Imogen and Gem, who even made us a delicious mushroom dish dessert. Credit goes to their mentor, Chef Dave, and Restaurant Manager Karen for introducing the vegan plant-based menu. I can't wait to go back. Reservations with a £5 deposit are required. Currently, wines are not labeled, but they are working on this for the future. However, I can confirm that the Prosecco is vegan. Highly recommended.
