Black Creek Diner

OK this is not a review of the whole restaurant as i just stopped and had their yam fries - but in this unexpected venue way off the beaten track, i seriously had the best yam fries i have ever had. I cannot comment on the rest of the menu because i don't know :-)

The last time I reviewed it, I called it clam chowder. It's not, it's a mix of sea food and the chunks of vegetables mixed with bits of smoked salmon, takes it over the top.My third time ordering it now and my third visit. If I could only branch out and order something other than the West Coast chowder but it's the best ever!Til next time and another choice because I have to get out of a rut here.

We were disappointed with our meal the last time we ate at the Diner. We were barely able to eat our burger as it was so terribly salty, we did let them know, we were not discounted anything tho. The food was better the last few times we ate there, seems to have declined tho and we thought we had a sure thing with eating there but likely won't return. Service was good tho.

Had the black creek burger and was totally surprised by how delicious it was! By coworker had the same (as well as a very fresh Caesar salad) but couldn't finish the whole thing. I will most definitely be coming back to try their pulled pork sandwich I was eyeing.

I went there expecting authentic BBQ. I had stopped in previously to check out the menu and the staff told me the BBQ was legit and all homemade. I had the brisket which is featured on their road sign. The brisket was a POT ROAST. Dry stringy pot roast with sauce on it. I was a competition BBQ guy and I know my cuts of meat. There was no evidence of it ever seeing smoke. My wife had the ribs which were just OK. Again no evidence of smoke or rub. Very disappointed as I was expecting REAL BRISKET not stringy pot roast. Only one server who was so busy she was over whelmed.
