Townsend House - Birr

From the minute we arrived in the minute, it was a great place to stay. martin made us very welcome and the guest house was very efficient. the opposite was great room beautiful and bright and the breakfast amazing. the personal was also amazing. I will finally thank you again.

We went for Tapas on a recent Thursday. Great to see the place going so well, recently extended so great space. Lovely.

This is a fantastic and budget-friendly accommodation! The owners are delightful and the breakfast is outstanding. The staff is very friendly. I really hope to return someday soon!

The rooms were lovely, large with high ceilings. Breakfast was nice, cereals, juice and Irish breakfast (done in whatever quantity you prefer) Check where your room is located though, unfortunately, we were above the kitchen/restaurant so at night there was industrial freezer/dishwasher noise from its area under the stairs and in the morning the kitchen preparations woke us much earlier than our alarm. Location was only a few minutes walk from the main square. The owners were lovely and very helpful.

Visited Townshend House tonight again for the first time since before Covid and it was as good as we remembered. Generous portions, tasty food and a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, just the right level of noise so we could chat and make conversation while enjoying our food. Top class service, we couldn’t have been looked after better. It won’t be so long before we’re back again!
