Toby Carvery Hall Green - Birmingham

My friend and I visited today for a carvery, and we were delighted with the delicious food. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant. We’ll definitely be returning soon. Thank you!

The service at the carvery was way too slow. I was told it would be a 20-minute wait for a table, but it ended up being closer to 30 minutes. Once we were seated, the queue was perpetually long. I saw a man with a toddler who took at least 20 minutes to get halfway through the line. They might need to implement a system where customers can join the queue in the order they arrive. Overall, I was disappointed.

When it was my turn, the carver served me three tiny slices of meat—some of the smallest I've ever seen. The lamb he offered was mostly fat, and it was clear he had done the same to the customer before me. I asked for some gammon, as it's my favorite, but he flat-out refused. I tried to explain my request, but he didn’t seem to understand and was mumbling under his breath. Having dined at numerous Harvesters and Sizzlers, I know how things typically work in these establishments, so I was quite taken aback. Overall, it was a frustrating experience with the carver more focused on sipping tea from a Grinch cup than on serving customers properly. I can only assume that the manager appreciates him for cutting back on portions. I would recommend avoiding this Toby Carvery due to the negative attitude of this staff member. There are plenty of other options you can find on Google within a mile or two.

We went there on a Tuesday night. We had a drink first then decided to have a snack choosing sandwiches. Our server was excellent, we think his name was Oscar. The food was just what we wanted and we enjoyed our drinks. All the staff that we met were a credit to the company. Excellent staff, good food and drinks.

Excellent service but roast beef and roast potatoes fatty, slightly burnt and raw. Desserts good quality and value. Overall cost of meals very good but score slightly low due to fatty beef and burnt potatoes.
