Domain Bar Restaurant - Birmingham

Always excellent food served here, with friendly, courteous staff and top-ranking chefs. Would recommend to anyone who enjoy good, tasty food at most reasonable prices. The thalis are great, and perfect range of choices for veggie diners. Thank you for the many enjoyable meals we've had at Domain. Five stars!

I had a pleasant dining experience at this restaurant. The prices were affordable and the atmosphere was cheerful. The staff were polite, although slightly disinterested. The food was very good, although I didn't like the yogurt with pieces in it and would request plain yogurt next time. Both of us ordered the thali, which was excellent value for money at £7. The lamb was tender, the chicken was cooked perfectly, and the paneer was amazing. I would have preferred two gulab jamuns for dessert as the one small one didn't satisfy me. The freshly made, buttery naan bread was plentiful. Despite enjoying our meal and not feeling unwell afterwards, I was disappointed to find out that the restaurant had a hygiene rating of zero. As a vulnerable person with a weakened immune system, I cannot risk getting sick and will have to avoid dining here until the rating improves. I am a regular customer and have always liked this restaurant. Today my son came with his wife and toddler from the north of England and wanted to go to Domain which is 45 minutes drive from me. I rang and told them and asked if they had a highchair. My grandson is 18 months,too young to sit on a chair. They arrived tired and hungry and when we got to Domain there was no highchair. The only highchair they have was in use by a child who is older and could have sat on the chair. After going especially from so far, we were unable to eat there. Nobody cared and I'm sure that my son would never want to visit there again. They should have two high chairs and treat regular customers in a more considerate way. Maybe also only give high chairs two children under 3. I feel very let down.

The venue is lovely, but the staff are not friendly and the food is terrible. The lamb dish was so big, I had to put the whole piece in my mouth!

1st time at Domain for me. My family have been here previously and always told me how nice is it and how much they like the food. I cant fault the food, tasty chicken lamb, beautiful naan and lovely spicy paneer. Im not a fan of the dessert and i didnt touch the acid yoghurt with puffed wheat in it. it took 1hr and 10 minutes before we had something to eat. they should have given us some nibbles or poppadoms but there was no communication. Service was nice and polite i must say but we had to wait way too long
