This place is definitely a favorite among hipsters. The decor is reminiscent of a charming coffee house, and the food options are quite good. The staff is knowledgeable about allergens and can accommodate various substitutions. It seems that many customers are regulars, as I noticed several people ordering their usual dishes. There’s convenient parking available on a nearby side street and in a parking lot, making it easy to find a spot on a Saturday. I ordered the Market Hash to go, and it was quite decent. The portion size was generous, and I appreciated its fresher, more earthy flavor since it wasn't deep-fried.
We stopped by this restaurant in Birmingham because it was highlighted as the top-rated eatery on Yelp in Alabama. The coffee was excellent, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the place was tidy and well-maintained. However, we found the portion sizes to be quite small for the prices charged, and there was only one non-vegetarian option for the warm dishes. The chicken thigh served on wild rice was delicious, even if it wasn't visually appealing. We also tried a locally made kombucha, which was very enjoyable. To satisfy our lingering hunger, we ordered a spicy carrot cake muffin and a savory bacon and cheese scone, both of which were outstanding. The muffin had a pleasant level of sweetness, and the scone was expertly made. Alongside our baked goods, we had a latte and espresso. Both were creamy and rich, and surprisingly affordable compared to other items on the menu.
This coffee shop is fantastic! We managed to accomplish a lot of work in a really laid-back atmosphere. The coffee drinks were outstanding, and the latte art was exceptional. The bathrooms were impeccably clean, and they provided high-quality soap and lotion. The food was also quite delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and never made us feel pressured to order more or leave. They even offered us fresh water several times during our four-hour visit.
We had a wonderful experience at the café. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The hot cakes were amazing, and the egg on toast was fantastic—the sourdough toast was definitely the highlight! The sweet potato biscuit was also superb, with just the right amount of sweetness that complemented the salted butter perfectly. The tea was equally well-prepared. The café isn’t very prominently marked, so keep an eye out for a small black sign protruding from the wall. There is parking available at a nearby municipal lot.
