As a lifelong resident of San Antonio, TX, I have an immense appreciation for quality, authentic Mexican cuisine. After relocating to Birmingham 14 months ago, I embarked on a mission to find a taqueria that could evoke fond memories of my hometown. I must say, as a passionate foodie, the dishes at El Girasol will make you feel as if you've been whisked away to Guadalajara for a family-style meal fit for a prodigal son! Without question, this is the best spot for genuine Mexican food in Birmingham.

Authentic Mexican cuisine! I've sampled various dishes, and they were all outstanding. The red mole is exceptionally flavorful. The service was quick, and the prices are very reasonable.

Girosol serves genuinely authentic Mexican cuisine, with dishes that taste as if they were prepared fresh that very morning. Each plate is distinct and exceptionally tasty. Although the atmosphere might be a bit dated, it contributes to the charm of an authentic dining experience. The prices are also very reasonable. A visit here is absolutely worth it!

I used to work there they are strict the owner yells at the workers but food is good there grilled chicken and ribs are good.

I've only had my son's leftovers from here and this place is the real deal.
