Adachi Sushi Japanese Cuisine

Original Review: The ambiance is pleasant and the service is decent, but the food is a hit-or-miss experience. Unfortunately, some of the most luxurious (and expensive) items on the menu were quite disappointing. On the positive side, I enjoyed the crab salad, tempura rock shrimp, and the negiri/sashimi selection of bluefin, hamachi, and salmon, all of which were quite good. However, the rest of the seafood offerings—o toro, chu toro, branzino, scallop, and octopus—were nearly flavorless. The ikura had an odd taste and a darker color than usual, possibly due to a marinade that didn’t quite work. O toro, being fatty tuna, was neither visually appealing nor flavorful in the three pricey pieces served. Miyazaki A5 wagyu is supposed to be a rich and fatty cut of beef, yet the (again, very pricey) portions we received were overcooked and as lean as any steak I’ve encountered. I’m willing to pay a premium for high-quality dishes, but they should deliver on their promises. The combination of high prices and lackluster fish, as well as questionable quality of the tuna and beef, makes it hard to recommend this place. I wish I could speak more favorably about it, especially since their sister restaurant, Zao Jun, is generally excellent. Unfortunately, this location doesn’t live up to expectations. Food tasted old fries also tasted very old and way too much salt. We also tasted the crispy chicken and it was soggy and not enough sauce.
