Hotel Koppel - Bingen am Rhein

We stayed at Hotel Koppel when our vacation was unexpectedly interrupted by my father's week long hospital stay. The staff of Hotel Koppel was so understanding and helpful, we felt as though we were staying with family. The rooms are recently redecorated and lovely. The breakfast buffet was my favorite in Germany and the German chocolate cupcakes on the breakfast buffet are worth the price of the room! Bingen is a great place to stay on a visit to the Rhein. It is a great town for shopping and restaurants and access to trains and sightseeing boats is excellent.

We booked here 3 rooms a year ahead for a weekend during the Winzerfest in 2012. Two days before our arrival he send an email to inform us that he cancelled our rooms because he booked a large group. He even said that we never confirmed our booking. We were so disgusted knowing we made our reservation when we left the year before and that it was normally the 3rd time that we would have stayed there. Eventually he booked 3 rooms for us in hotel Rheingau where we stayed and still are going to.Rooms are ok, neat and renovated.

The service is kind, the cakes are yummy, I want to give 4 points, but it's allowed to smoke and this not nice.

Frühstück bis 12:00 Uhr. Wir trafen wegen einer Terminverschiebung erst gegen 12:15 Uhr ein. Rückfrage der Bedienung beim Chef: kein Problem, wir bekommen unser Frühstück noch: Etagère mit Lachs, Schinken, Wurst und Käse, garniert mit Gurke, Tomate und Meerrettich. Dazu Butter, Marmelade und Honig. Pro Person zwei Brötchen und ein Croissant, sowie ein Glas Orangensaft und Sekt. Kaffee soviel man mag. Das Ganze serviert von einer sehr netten Bedienung, die immer mal wieder vorbeischaut, ob vielleicht noch Wüsche offen sind. Was will man mehr? So könnte jeder Tag beginnen!

Am Ende der Fußgängerzone liegt das Hotel und Café Köppel. Ich bewerte das Café. Gemütlich eingerichtet, nettes Personal und große Kuchenauswahl. Der Kuchen aus eigener Konditorei ist lecker, aber auch leicht zu süß.Bemerkenswert sind die Preise:- Cappuccino 2,60 - 3,60- Milchkaffee 3,60- Kuchen 3,00 plus 0,80 für Sahne zum Apfelkuchen Trotz der Preise ist der Laden voll.
