Clean restaurant in a low light romantic environment. Service we great and the food was outstanding! We had so many left overs to snack on later in the evening. Nice window seating with a lovely view of the ocean.
Wow. This place is fantastic. We were blown away by all of it. First, I must give some background. Several weeks ago we were at Phoenicia Grill in Ocean Springs because of the great reviews. As soon as we walked in there, I was questioning everyone's opinion. The mediocre food was $30 a plate, the service was sub-par, and the atmosphere felt like we were in a poorly lit diner. Fast forward to a few days ago, we walked into CQ, and immediately loved it. The view was great, the service was amazing, the servers didn't look cracked out, the food was heavenly with great portions, the atmosphere was on point. They even gave me a free dessert since it was my birthday. And the prices were so similar to that of Phoenicia. We got more bang for our buck. So, moral of the story, go to CQ for a lovely experience!
Took my husband and another couple for his birthday dinner on June 30th. What a farce! He ordered porterhouse medium rare around $42 I believe. 1st one came well done nearly burnt. Fine it happens sent it back immediately asked for med rare again. 2nd one comes finally nearly what they call 'blue ' which is raw to you non foodies. Ok try again meanwhile 3 of us are almost done. 3rd one takes forever and he cuts in to it and it 's raw again! By now birthday boy is upset, hungry, frustrated. and approaching mad. The server although very polite said 'we won 't charge you for it '. That is when my husband lost it. He said well I hope not ...i see his point, why would we be charged? he didn 't eat it just cut into it. We won 't be back. I hope the Chef learns the definition of rare, medium rare, well. It should be culinary class 102.
The food was exceptional! I ordered the 16oz bone-in ribeye topped with melted blue cheese, accompanied by buttery whipped mashed potatoes. My lovely girlfriend had the crab-stuffed flounder and asparagus. We also shared an absolutely delicious strawberry cheesecake and a CQ salad that came with to-die-for candied walnuts. Our server, Britney, was outstanding! She recommended the perfect wine to complement our meals and was both polite and knowledgeable, enhancing our experience further. I would have given this place five stars if it weren't for the hostess, who seemed rather lifeless and didn’t smile at all during our visit—definitely off-putting. Additionally, a busboy commented to my girlfriend that the crab-stuffed flounder was a massive portion and too much for one person, which was puzzling since she had already finished her dish! Despite these minor issues, I highly recommend this restaurant—just be sure to ask for a booth!
