My Luchon friend recommended this place during our week-long ski trip to Luchon and it was one of the highlights of our many dinners that week. It's a warm, convivial atmosphere...like walking into a rustic mountain chalet, wooden log cabin or grandma's kitchen. It has...several dining rooms and all kinds of cool old-fashioned antiques and kitchenware hanging from the walls, as well as many photos of French celebrities who have been at the restaurant. The place was quite full when we got there, so I was glad that we had made a prior reservation. There are many different and well-priced menus to choose from. I decided to go with the euro menu, which included an entree, a main a cheese plate and a dessert that you can choose from a list. Coupled with the free (and delicious) vegetable soup aperitif toasted normal bread at the beginning of the meal, by the end, I was stuffed beyond words. The camembert entree at the beginning was TO DIE FOR, the cheese platter with a fig jam was SO generous (I shared it with my friend and even then, we couldn't finish The atmosphere, food and the price was unbeatable. We got there for dinner so it was very dark, but my friend said that the area around the restaurant boasts beautiful views durinig the day. We had a lovely dinner with good service, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the Luchon area.
If they have never been here, they lack a contract!. this wonderful restaurant with character beautiful atmosphere, nice eating, friendly service.
Tradition in the Pyrenees We stayed at the little Ferme d’Espiau in their very simple guest house for a few days trekking in the Pyrenees Mountains. The place is very simple, with an original décor and has attracted many celebs for its authentic atmosphere. The...cuisine is very traditional – quite a lot and good price-quality ratio. It’s particularity perfect food for the region and for physical effort of trekking and when you are coming back very hungry from your day trip. The staff is very kind and hard working and remains very nice even with a very challenging schedule and quite crowded place for this small little village. For lunch you can enjoy the large terrace with great Mountain View… A place to recommend in a very nice region of France!
We booked for 10 people. actually arrived the restaurant was full. the decoration is from mountaineering times that. you put in the mood. We loved the wood style. we start with a soup offered by the resto.Whatever you ordered a soup is offered to you. Then the menu at 20, 27, 28 and other menus are almost the same. we took the menu 28€. which changes is the choice of more elaborate dish. dish cheese and dessert. the presentation is any, the quality is good but the less quantity can be because it was good?? reactive and smiling staff. We spent a good evening overall. Better reserved to be sure to eat.
