The kids cheese burger was fat, juicy, done perfectly medium with two gooey slices of cheese and a tender, tasty bun. Philly cheesesteaks, while not particularly authentic and a touch bland, were less of the gamble than I'd imagined.
The pretzels don't look anything like the picture! Basically over buttered way over salted microwave pretzels. The mashed potatoes were dry and taste like some kind of meat broth. Both items were less than desirable.
Rita was our server and she was pleasant. We both ordered the chicken tender dinner with sides of salad, mac and cheese and cole slaw. The salad was not bad at all! Cold and seemed fresh. The chicken tenders were hot and crisp...the best part of the meal. The menu indicates that there is a choice of sauces but we were never asked what we wanted. It came out with BBQ sauce. I requested buffalo sauce after inquiring what the other options were. My husband was bummed there wasnt a honey mustard option. The mac and cheese was basic and almost flavorless. The coleslaw was quite runny and also lacked seasoning...zip.
Even though this is a truck stop dinner it definitely isn't one of my favorites. The salad bar is basically non existent with only a lettuce mix and choice of salad dressings. There are a couple of salad mixes potato salad, macaroni salad, cucumber salad and possibly slaw). My grilled cheese was hot and tasty as well be as my fries. Overall I would maybe try eating here one more time to be fair but today I definitely wasn't impressed.
The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean and charming. Unfortunately, the food was subpar. I ordered the roast beef, but it seemed like thick slices of lunch meat. The bread was stale, the mac and cheese was cold, but the black beans were surprisingly good, maybe because they came out of a can. Within minutes of eating, I experienced digestive issues. If my grandmother were with me, she would not have been pleased with the quality of the food. The prices were too high for what essentially amounted to lunch meat.
