Known for its wide range of fresh sweets and vegetarian dishes, it has stood the test of time as one of the city's oldest establishments. Not only is the food delicious, but it is also pocket-friendly, making it a favorite spot for many.
Good food, serves authentic veg food. Also has a thali restaurant, which serves excllent thali with various varieties.
Know this place for long. It has good breakfast menu. Particularly South Indian dishes. It also sells sweets. Of all I my best like is Jayram Pedha. An unusual square pedha, with brown khowa. Covered in a thin plastic cover. I make it a point to bye them every time I go to Bhopal.
We visited Manohar sweets on two different occasions and had quite an enjoyable experience both times. The restaurant is divided into 4 levels, the ground floor where the sweets and snacks are displayed, 1st floor that is a fast food dining space, 2nd floor which is slightly more formal but still a casual dining area and finally the 3rd floor which is the banquet hall. The first time we visited, we were seated at the 1st floor and the second time at the 2nd floor. Both floors seemed to have their own kitchen as the same item ordered on both these floors tasted quite different, slightly better at the second floor we felt. I tried quite an array of dishes at this restaurant, starting from my most favorite, the onion kachori was crisp and fresh, it was spicy and adequately so. The next was their creamy, rich and refreshing cold coffee that wasn't overly sweet or overly caffeinated. Rava masala dosa had a great texture along with incredible taste. It was served along with a tangy Sambar and coconut chutney. The vegetarian thali was a delight as well. It came with a dal, one paneer dish, one subzi, rice, breads, papad, a fresh salad and a gulab jamun. The flavors of each item were on point. It was a simple preparation that wasn't over powering in any way but also not so subtle that it lacks flavor. Paneer tikka grilled sandwich was one of the things I didn't savour much. The spices were too intense for the sandwich and I would have preferred a small packet of chips as opposed to a few soggy chips on the side. The next dish that didn't make the favorite list was the Dahi bhalla which tasted slightly stale the first time but was however better the second time around. Overall, Manohar sweets is a great place for snacks or a wholesome vegetarian meal. The variety available is huge, price moderate and the service is quite prompt as well. The restaurant is quite clean and the taste of most dishes impressive. It is one restaurant in Bhopal that is definitely worth a try.
If you don't have many options, then consider coming here. This restaurant will not disappoint you. It is also budget-friendly.
