Gasthaus Werner Groll - Beverungen

I have to say that I am quite disappointed by this hospitable house and especially by the owners. I was there for business in a smaller group. I was invited to a Christmas party. we sat when you get in the door right on the left side. I felt the place more than uncomfortable, as it went through the door cold again and again and so my was felt that the wet would probably save heating costs and the heating had not turned up properly. but what has spoiled the whole evening was that was smoked at the bar and that in a dining room and although there is a strict non-smoking law. that this was probably not “simple” it was also seen that later the following (probably master guests) sat down in cash and, of course, ignited a zigarette. many in the table found it impossible – but it was also said that it was probably a “open secret” that smoking is tolerated here. I can only say - pfui teufel! the food was good and tasty, sufficiently large portions - but what is useful if you prefer to leave the restaurant immediately. I will not see this restaurant with security.

This restaurant is close to the town of Beverungen in North-Rhine Westphalia. We discovered the place on a road trip and stopped for lunch. The restaurant has acozy ambience, the service is professional and pleasant, food choices were geared to regional specialties, and the food arrived within a reasonable time. We were especially impressed with the freshness and the quality of food. Instead of the usual "suspects", we found food that was not prepared in the deep-fryer. We had asparagus and pan fried zander filet-very light and tasty! This establishment seems to be well known, offers lunch and dinner, and if you want to throw a party, they have a hall too!
