Urth Caffe - Beverly Hills

I tried the vegan sandwich and it was absolutely delicious, as well as the salad. I also sampled the pumpkin pie, but it wasn't really to my taste. However, those who enjoy sweeter flavors may like it.

There are plenty of menu options available in this restaurant, although it may initially seem like there aren't many vegan choices. However, vegan options are spread throughout the menu without clear labeling. Some items can be made plant-based, using vegan alternatives like vegan egg whites, while others simply have "vegan" in the name. We tried the vegan panini with portobella mushrooms, which was quite tasty. The Spanish latte with oat milk was also delicious; even as a non-vegan, I found it to be one of the best espresso drinks I've had. The outdoor seating is a bit shady, and the atmosphere feels upscale, as is typical of Beverly Hills.

I enjoyed a Vegan Pumpkin Pie, Vegan Patty Melt Panini, Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice and a Double Espresso at this restaurant. The place was bustling with both indoor and outdoor seating, but the staff were friendly and efficient in handling the busy atmosphere. The patty melt was delicious, with perfect flavors and textures, and even though I forgot to ask for extra cheese, the amount they put on was just right. The jalapeños on top added a nice kick to the sandwich. The spinach salad was also satisfying, with a generous portion of well-dressed spinach. The pumpkin pie had amazing flavor, though the texture was a bit lacking for me, I would have preferred a crunchier crust and firmer filling. The freshly squeezed orange juice was sweet and tangy, and the espresso was dark and rich. I even mixed my espresso with some orange juice in a separate cup, which was a delicious combination. Overall, I may return for another patty melt in the near future.

Urth Caffe’s vegan options are bland and uninspired. It almost seems like they were put on the menu in the 90s, when most restaurants had no idea how to make vegan food, and then just never improved. Take your money and your appetite elsewhere.

This is a trendy place that has several locations in Los Angeles. They have vegan options, but could use some more. Decently tasty.
