Rockledge Cafeteria - Bethesda

Curry Chicken salad sandwich was plentiful, well-seasoned, and used excellent raisin bread. I went to the area for a physician's appointment and may come back for the Rockspring Cafe.

My coworkers and I frequent this cafe because it is convenient and the food is pretty good. For the most part the staff is pretty friendly. Some can get a little snippy when it's busy but I understand. The breakfast sandwiches are pretty good and are reasonably priced. I do wish they would put a little more cream cheese on their bagels. I guess I could just request it next time. The hot bar/ salad bar are pretty yummy but are pretty expensive. I guess that's the price you pay for convenience.

Sad excuse for a cafeteria. I was there for a training. I had brought food from home but forgot to take a spoon. Went to the cafeteria and the person at the counter said 25 cents for a plastic disposable spoon. I asked if I can use my card as I dont carry cash. The person said 4 dollars to use the card I stayed hungry. And a lesson learnt , I will never buy a thing there . For a spoon which u can buy 50 for a dollar twenty from a dollar store, they lost a customer .

I've had food and snacks from here over the last 6 years and it's been fine. It is great to get something freshly made or hot near your workplace, and if you want premade snacks and drinks they have a very large selection. They also carry medicine type stuff (like painkillers and upset stomach types) for your other needs. It gets very busy during lunch time but you can use the touch screen menus on the side to sometimes save a little time. They have breakfast and lunch menus and also a hot bar/a la carte section. They have seating both inside and outside available. The prices are fair.

Uptown is a great place to grab your morning breakfast before you start work. Located at the bottom of a commercial building in a business complex, most of the customers are nearby workers. They have a lunch buffet that costs by the pound (can get expensive). If you're looking for a quick bite this is a good option. They also have a huge variety of candy/chips/sodas that rival 7-11.
