Paul - Bethesda

The service was extremely rude. I ordered a strawberry pistachio macaron but received just a pistachio macaron instead. When I mentioned this at the reception (the staff member's name was Tonya), she insisted that I had ordered the pistachio flavor and added that I had already paid for it, so there was no way to exchange it. Instead of offering a solution, she had a condescending attitude and told me I could just keep the original. I eventually left the incorrect macaron on the counter, and later, the manager instructed Tonya to keep it.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. Despite arriving during regular business hours, the employee refused to serve us, insisting that they were closing soon. I wanted to order five desserts and two coffees to enjoy outside, but he denied me plates and said he wouldn't make fresh coffee, only suggesting we take bottled coffee from the refrigerator instead. This is not what I expected from a French restaurant. I believe that if you arrive before closing time, you should still receive service. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this establishment due to the rude behavior of the staff.

Great prices! Just $9 for an éclair—can you believe it? Nine dollars for just one éclair. It seems that since they’re French, they think they can charge this much. If the Paul shops in France tried to sell eclairs for 8 euros, they’d be run out of town! Plus, everything in Bethesda is pricey. I recommend going to Tatte instead; they offer much better pastries at more reasonable prices.

I had the most pleasant experience at Paul’s Bakery in Bethesda. I visited the city and an employee, Alan, made me feel at home. I had a fluffy croissant and icy tea that was perfect! Thank you for making my visit unforgettable. I'm back!

Great baked goods! Gave a small box set of assorted goodies to my staff for a holiday treat and they loved them. Highly recommend!
