Le Pain Quotidien - Bethesda

The welcome was incredibly warm and respectful, and my breakfast was absolutely delicious! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

My friend and I went for a hike, but wanted to grab a drink and a light snack beforehand. We did a quick search for coffee and discovered this lovely café/restaurant. Although I've never been to France, it felt like I had walked into a French café. The atmosphere and decor were absolutely stunning and inviting. The drinks and food were both delicious. I highly recommend it! I just wish I lived closer so I could visit more often.

The food is quite good, but the service tends to be a bit slow, and not all the dishes arrive at the same time. This can leave some diners feeling like they have to wait for others to be served. Despite this, the quality of the food is strong enough that I would definitely go back (and have already returned).

I am fully aware that Le Pain is a chain with an unusual name and not a real coffee shop. But it is totally insulting to charge customers for espresso based drinks at prices of $5-6 and then continue to use a hotel lobby machine. Be sure when you come to actually get coffee, you will go much better to the Starbucks next door.

I've come to this location numerous times now, and have thoroughly enjoyed it! As someone who hails from Europe, this Cafe has been a great reminder of home. The coffee is great, as is the food. The atmosphere is excellent also, it is very quaint. I highly recommend this Cafe!
