Henry's Sweet Retreat - Bethesda

We have come now to visit this place several times as they are the only place in the area I know that this offers freshly diceed Graeter ice cream! I am a local of Cincinnati, Ohio and really miss having this weekly! LOL. First we discovered this place when we ate in the area and just looked around some ice cream. I couldn't believe it when I saw pictures freshly stolen from the Graeter logo and ice cream! I even called to confirm that I didn't dream! LOL. They also offer another local ice cream, but I must say that it is not so smooth and creamy or as tasteful. Just my opinion. My children love this place because of the crazy sweets they have here! They usually land by the ice to get an extra sugary sweet. This place also offers baked goods, some of which we tried. All I tried was nice, but not as a life-changing Lee awesome like the ice. Although my husband was a whole fan of her s’more’s cookie! The service here was always friendly and we will definitely be back!

I'm back a year later to update this review and you know... Bethesda is lucky to have Henrys! The candy is always fresh, which is a small detail compared to the amazing quality of all homemade pastries they offer. This place is a treasure and has something for everyone!

Versatile and helpful staff. The Graeter ice cream is expensive, but honestly some of the best you will ever eat. They have tons of chocolate and candy, but also Acai bowls. The fruit they have given up is not the freshest, so stick to the candy. I love the ice and they even have ice sandwiches. Make yourself a favor and get the smores ice!

I ordered a cake and cake pops for a family birthday party. Both we’re delicious and beautiful! One week later and the leftover cake pops taste as fresh as day one. We especially loved the lemon flavored. Don’t pass this shop without getting one of their delectable treats. You won’t be disappointed. This family-owned business is one of Bethesda’s gems.
