El Nopal - Bethany

We drove back from Chicago to Lawrence, KS and stopped for a late dinner. The chips were excellent, the salsa delicious (on the mild side) and our food was great. We had shrimp cocktail, beef Fajitas, beef taco salad and Enchiladas suiza. It was all delicious and we had leftovers to take home, but unfortunately, the shrimps would not make the 2 hours drive.

Similar to another.... I stayed in this restaurant on the way back to Dallas from Minnesota. Saw the 100% review on Urbanspoon and said: Why not the devil? The place is a bit away after you pass a gas station. Nothing special. The place was not very busy at lunchtime and were sitting immediately. Some chips and salsa get, yes the salsa was very good. They had a special thing, $0.99 tacos, so I ordered four of them. Well, THOSE were some tacos! Loading with meat and not greasy, this is what I expect when I order a taco from a not fast food joint a little more than your fast food taco. The fried beans were also ok, quite standard for a Mexican restaurant. The Sopapilla was different from all I had before (see picture). I get used to something more fluffy, but this guy was flat and had a chocolate drop on it. Very well, I guess it was a bit of a spin on the normal desert. I mean a beautiful find in the state of MO, and somewhere that I would stop when I visit up to MN. I want to make it a favorite for this reason. For those who travel, this place is a specific stop!

Amazing specials, great burrito special along with domestic beer specials. Great salsa and warm tortilla chips. The burrito special was super yummy and hit the spot! Super kind, attentive staff and I was amazed by how clean the restaurant was as well. When we are driving through Bethany, MO sometime again, we will return!

If you are craving some dang fine Mexican food and love fast wonderful service well, this is your place! Traveling through we stopped here. Almost as fast as fast food With 10 times the taste! Victor was kind, courteous and very efficient. We had Plato Loco, (chicken shrimp and steak platter) VERY GOOD! My daughters had a fajita with both were very happy with. Decent price, in and out in under 30 minutes and we were lolly gagging!Great place!

Great value for money! Really great quantity! Penny-to-food ratio, speed at which they deliver food and unbeatable TASTE makes this stop on i35 totally worthwhile! Try different jalapenos peppers and spicier salsa if you love experimenting with spice levels. Jalapeños Peppers were just amazing and took food to next level. Chimichangas were juicy and filling, Quesedillas Fajitas and cocktails were fresh and fab too! As per my sister, highly recommended for Indian families. Also side note, restrooms were so clean and nice smelling.
