Hummus & Friends - Berlin

The food here was really nice and is all kosher. The atmosphere is also great and feels like a bit of a boutique coffee shop.

I really enjoyed my meals here and service was good generally although one waitress we had was a little abrupt sometimes. I do think that the place could maybe expand it's horizons and offer more dishes that aren't hummus based, though it is called Hummus & Friends for a reason I guess! The food is good, though maybe a little expensive for what it is (we paid something like €22 for three bowls of hummus and two pieces of pita bread) and the pita served with the hummus isn't enough, you can buy more pita for €0,85 a piece but I would have appreciated smaller dishes with more pita to begin with.

Food is good, especially the soup. Really nice flavours. Tables and chairs are totally impractical and uncomfortable, not suitable for dining at.We were sat next to the toilet at bar stools at a tiny table, it was really uncomfortable, unappetising and noisy.Service is terrible!!!!We were halfway through our soup and the staff brought our hummus for two (nice but way too expensive for what it is) I said please give us 5 mins, as the table is not big enough. The waitress ignored me and dumped the food on the windowsill outside the toilet and said just take it when you're finished. I didn't want to eat it, in London you'd never get away with that, they'd send it back to the kitchen. She took our bread away, I had to run around and ask for our bread back. A guy came to us holding it is his hands, asking us where our basket was, why not place it in one and bring it to us!!! Because our table wasn't big enough and they didn't clear it, we had to load our dirty dishes on the windowsill. When it came to paying the bill we got tired of waiting so we waited for 10 mins by the front door until they brought the card machine. I would never go here again, really disappointing. I felt the staff didn't care, their knowledge on hygiene was non-existent.

‘Make hummus, not walls’: what a great manifesto! Discovered this place almost by accident: everything vegan/ vegetarian and kosher. Very imaginative menu, friendly and efficient staff and lovely ambience. Also, in terms of physical space, really lovely, different ways of experiencing the same venue.Not sure I made the right choice with the H&F hummus special: too much of a good thing. But the fruit pot with mango sorbet was a really lovely experience. I look forward to exploring further menu option on future visits.

We came here for a light dinner. Service was very slow and while the hummus was delicious they did not provide enough bread (2 pieces of bread for 3 plates of hummus between 2 people), forcing you to buy more in order to finish an already expensive dish. We went at a busy time and felt they were understaffed.
