Melomelo Kava - Berkeley

Cool place, kava is strong and has a strong taste. Nice bartender, calm hippie vibe inside.

Great drinks... they also gave many free drinks as it was my first time in a Kava bar. I had some normal kava-only drinks and the chocolate kava mocktail. The bartender is very nice and he gave some background information on kava. Some personal notes, go there hydrogenated and not DRINK ALCOHOL BEFORE OR AFTER with Kava, as it can cause serious health problems immediately. So it was Sunday night, they play Mario Kart on a Wii U console that was quite funny. The mood in the bar is very relaxing. The only side effect I had was a little dirty and left the lab.

I'm wrong about the street I saw live. Imagine my surprise and joy when I found out that nobody was drunk, only mellow mellow mellow off Kava. Such a chill spot like community. I have to come back

Very nice place to work during the day and relax during the night. Friendly staff. Cool interior. Board games available.

Personally, I don't love the kava drinks but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here! The kava in the drinks gives a ginseng-esque flavor and did make me feel calm after but the flavor left a very interesting feeling on my tongue that I'm not the biggest fan of. The atmosphere is so nice though, it is dim inside and lots of seating for friends to just chat and lounge around on. I would come here again with friends and just order something from the tab. Everyone here is so kind and very patient as it was my first time there, so I felt incredibly welcomed. Thanks for a great experience!
