Donato&co. - Berkeley

Last night, we had the most amazing meal to celebrate our 4-year anniversary! We chose the prix fixe menu and it was fantastic! Every course was outstanding! From the homemade pasta with shrimp to the fried cod with artichokes and the chocolate fudge with gelato for dessert, every dish was delicious! We highly recommend this restaurant! The service was also excellent.

The food is delicious and the service is friendly. We always have a great time when we dine here. If you want to experience truly outstanding Italian cuisine and have a wonderful meal, come visit. We will definitely be returning soon to enjoy more.

This was our second time at Donato because we wanted to give it a second shot. Our first experience was on Valentines day where they were having some issues due to it being a holiday and their system being down. That meant we ended up spending about 3 hours at Donato, mostly waiting and getting impatient for anything to come. This time around, we brought a friend to give it a second chance. It was a random Friday night with a reservation. Service was slow, the same as our first time around. It took around half an hour before they took our order. Took another hour for our food to come out, and we were handed a dessert menu before our last item was supposed to come. I say supposed to come because even though we ordered it, we were told that it was never put in and we wouldn 't be getting. I don 't understand why this place has such a high rating. The food is mediocre for how expensive it is, the service is slow, and it seems like the chefs are so backed up they can 't get food out at all in a timely manner. I really wanted to like this place considering it has such rave reviews on here, but it seems like the only people I see enjoying this spot are old white couples, so if you don 't look like you own multiple properties, maybe don 't come. This was our second and last time coming here.

Amazing food and service! Tortelloni with eggplant was outstanding

I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant. From the outstanding service to the scrumptious food, it is a must-try!
