Took my friend here for his Birthday lunch in October 2019. I was foolish in not pre-booking the Sunday roast as it was sold out well before our arrival. However, the food we had was delicious anyway. I had hand-carved ham, egg, chips with salad. The portion was very generous and quality was superb, especially considering the price, with a couple of huge wedges of home-cooked bone-in ham. My friend had the famous sausages, mash and onion gravy. Excellent, girthy (lol) butcher’s sausages with plenty of mash, peas and lashings of quality thick onion gravy. We had some lovely ‘proper’ cider on draught which made a refreshing change to find cider claiming to be ‘proper’ to actually be ‘proper’. It was strong, cloudy and tinged orange in colour and brought rosiness to our cheeks! Staff were all lovely, atmosphere was excellent. It’s a fairly small pub but very cosy and comfortable. Well-behaved dogs allowed. We shall definitely be visiting again soon. Thank you very much for a lovely afternoon
The food is excellent, particularly the soup. The person who served us could.not have been more charming. Highly dog friendly.
Stopped by today with my nervous dog to try and get her used to new places. The Lady behind the bar was brilliant (I'm so sorry i didn't get your name). Everybody was so friendly and welcoming and really understanding. I will 100% be back, probably weekly, can't recommend enough! Thank you
This charming old guest house is full of character and offers a delightful atmosphere. The value for money is excellent, and the Sunday dinner is truly fantastic. The peace and ambiance are exceptional, making it worth returning. The main menu is available alongside the Sunday menu, providing plenty of choices.
