Przekaż informację zwrotnąI had gone through the Bergisch Gladbacher district of Refrath in the afternoon and looked at the restaurants there. In the evening I decided to visit the German restaurant near the S-Bahn station. Behind the outside door I first came into a windfall of heavy fabric webs, sat behind it and stood about fifteen people around a large vault, together with seven tables of them were two occupied. Unobstructed by any kind of service I was looking for a free table and took place. Both waiters were of the type of “beer”, i.e. both of the rustic type of beer carrier, but rather nice and friendly. They brought me the menu after a short time and asked if I wanted a carol or an Oktoberfest beer. I asked for a time of contemplation because I wanted to study the map first, and he left. Overall, the service was very good, especially the beverage delivery was smooth as expected. Food The menu mainly offers German cuisine, focuses on carving dishes. It is pointed out that waiting times can occur due to the always fresh preparation. I ordered “Schnitzel Jäger Art with frits and salads” (12.80 €) and as a local drink a carole (0.2l for 1.40 €). The waiter thanked and disappeared to treses, but appeared almost as fast and served the beer. Later he brought a plate with napkin and cutlery as well as salt and pepper shakers. A short time later he brought the salad as an appetizer. It consisted of various leaf salads (peace, elk leaf, corn, carrot, radishes and cucumber slices and tomato vases. The dressing was obviously stirred on the basis of acidic cream itself, all very well. I didn't eat the salad when the waiter brought the plate with my carving. Fortunately, a cut carving of a little more than one hand size was only partially covered with a cream sauce which contained a number of mushroom slices of fresh mushrooms. In addition, a piece of frits, hot and crispy and really seasoned. The carving was hot, the meat was tender and delicious, with the mushrooms very delicious. The size of the part was right to be saturated. Environment As mentioned at the outset, the complex is more like a pub than a restaurant. The chairs and table frames were made of medium-brown wood, table tops made of light wood and without table tops. A small pot plant, a wind light and a beer lid holder per table were the entire decoration. The floor consisted of artificial stone tiles in gray with black and white sprinklers, there were several wooden wall shelves with old beer glasses on it. A large window to the side had a deep window bench, on it a forest of pot plants. The walls were covered with the same dark wood up to about 1 m height, from which there were also the mountains and wardrobes. On the yellowish walls there were numerous old engravings, etchings and photos. Cleanliness The guest rooms did not give rise to complaints, even in the pot flourishing jungle on one window bench there were neither dust nor spider nets. Glasses, dishes and cutlery were also clean. The toilets proved to be completely renovated, technically at the last stand and very clean.
I sent my grandsons out to find somewhere to eat at a reasonable price. They reported back that they liked the look of this venue. We went and I was stunned by what we got.The venue is in the modern bar restaurant style. It wasn't busy. The guy (there was only one) was quickly in tune with us speaking as we did a mixture of German and English. Two starters of snails and one of red mullet were given very high marks. Our wines by the glass were fresh and appropriate and sensibly priced. Indeed a feature of the venue is its sensible pricing throughout, Main courses were uniformly raved about. My Dauphinoise potatoes were homemade and cooked fresh, and so as to avoid onion for me the pork dish was amended and a pfifferlingen sauce of high quality added. Beef with red cabbage and a schnitzel were the other choices.Beware no credit cards and cash needed but at just over 100 euros covered our two course meal and wine.
