Grieks Special Delphi Bergen Op Zoom

One of favorite restaurants in Boz so far. One they have an English menu which is great cause Google translate takes some time. Servers speak english well which helps. They start by giving you a shot of something with a licorice taste so great start. They have a free salad bar with every meal but this is not an american salad bar. It changes each time you go but it it not lettuce. Usually items like beets, coleslaw, olives, carrots, corn and condiments We usually get some type of meat platter, everything we have had was great. Try one of their mixed options to get a true taste of their menu. Gyro meat is by far my favorite. Am I big fan of the feta sauce with the chicken I highly recommend the saganaki. These are squares of perfection topped with some utter sweetness. I can not say that any better. It was almost hard to share with the hubby. It is a little pricey but you can more than you can handle. As normal, you pay for water, refills. You get french fries with mayo to share.

The Mediterranean influence is strong in Bergen op Zoom, but most of the places stay in the fast food genre, mostly serving doner kebabs with a surfeit of mayonnaised fries. Grieks takes it up a notch and a price point. While the Netherlands is by no means Germany, it still seems that the traveler must deliberately seek out greenery. Thus, I was once again foraging for salad. Grieks isn't a take-out kind of a place, and not surprisingly, doesn't have plasticware, but they were kind enough to accommodate me with two boxed Greek salads and an on-tap Amstel while I waited. For what must be a starter, the salad was generously loaded with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, olives, and feta. The tomatoes were predictably a little underripe, and the dressing was too light. But the feta and olives more than made up for these deficiencies. Apollo would approve of this fine restaurant on the square.

Zeer smakelijk eten, flinke porties en bovendien een saladebar waar je zelf je groenten kunt samenstellen, een erg leuke ervaring en zeer vriendelijk personeel! Wij bestelden de bruschetta's met feta en tzatziki, maar ontdekten later dat er een soortgelijke tzatziki in de saladebar te vinden was; we wisten niet zeker of het dezelfde was. Als hoofdgerecht nam ik een bifteki gevuld met feta, heel lekker, en het werd geserveerd met wat gyros en rijst, dus er was zeker genoeg te eten. Mijn vriend nam de gyros schotel en had daar een beetje spijt van, omdat er al gyros bij het gerecht zat, dus het was iets te veel van het goede. Maar alles was erg smakelijk en mooi gepresenteerd!
