Il Sole In Bocca Sicilian Street Food

Great place to stop for coffee and a canoli to recuperate from the climb to the Alta citta. Haven't tried anything else but everything on offer looked good.

We saw this place while walking through the old town and thought it was a must try. We tried two of the flavours of the arancini on offer but wasn't that thrilled with either of them. The staff were friendly.

We passed here daily as we were staying nearby, there is a giant cannoli in the window. We ate many Arancini from here which were delicious every time. I loved the Arancini con fungi And my husband the Ragu. Delicious for a snack of for a thrifty quick lunch.

We have been to Stresa many times and the food can be excellent or mediocre and expensive. On a rainy afternoon we happened on Il Sole in Bocca for lunch. There are just a few seats indoors and a few tables outdoors. We had octopus salad, quiche, veal cutlet, stuffed tomatoes, grilled fennel and a huge piece of fig cake for dessert. All for about 20 euros. The owner was delightful and heated everything for us and the food was far better than we had at upscale restaurants in Stresa. Highly recommend. Seems to be a favorite of locals. Tomorrow we will buy a picnic lunch there for the train.
