Best Turkish in Bendigo! Always tastes fresh and delicious! Kebabs are amazing and the Turkish bread and dips are delicious!

Excellent take away meals available here, in particular the mixed souvlaki is sensational, add a dash of garlic and chilli sauce and your in for a real treat

Due to a regular Wednesday night commitment, I've been getting take-away every week for a number of years. I usually have the chicken and rice pack with plain yoghurt, lettuce and tomato. The lamb, hummus, turkish bread, salads and baklava are all fantastic. I have also ordered food for a large group on a number of occasions, and everyone was fed for less than $4 per head! It is rare that take-way is not a guilt-ridden experience, but in the case of the Turkish Kitchen, the food is fresh, tasty and prepared to order. Turkish cuisine has specialised in meat for centuries; this establishment stands proud in that tradition. After moving to Melbourne, my children still can't find a kebab to match one from Turkish Kitchen take-away. It has become that most delightful of experiences where I'm asked, "Would you like the usual?".

After visiting the Marilyn Monroe Exhibit we were hungry and we chose this Turkish restaurant.After being seated we looked at the menu, decided what we wanted walked up to order and waited, and waited, and waited whilst the staff stood in the doorway to the kitchen talking... even after seeing us standing there waiting! Then one of the 'chatters' gave us a greasy as he walked outside.So we eventually ordered after repeating out order at LEAST 3 times to the waitress, we were starting to think our Melbourne accent was different to Bendigo's!We ordered an entree and main, and I can tell you the food was spectacular.I had Turkish Bread and eggplant dip and then the mixed Iskender plate, with was shaved chicken and lamb, on top of a bed of rice with a tomato based sauce and yogurt type dip/sauce around the outside. Seriously this dish was delicious, and I was so full I couldn't finish it all, much to my devastation! I didn't even eat dinner that night because I was still so full.I would travel back to Bendigo JUST for this dish.
